The latest addition to our Board!
Zayna Tubeishat
I’m a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, studying International Relations and Finance. Throughout my life, as a woman, an immigrant and a Jordanian, I have witnessed grave injustices, based on sex, race, and financial status that ignited in me a passion for change. With my degree, I plan to combat these deep-rooted political, economic, and cultural issues. I believe that in order to enact true and viable change, we must start at home. I am passionate for the opportunity to contribute my unique ideas to the UNA through a youthful perspective and relatability to better engage the young people in our chapter and in Milwaukee at-large. That is why I want to serve on the Board of Directors of the UNA-GM.
Martha Collins
She has dedicated her career to working for social justice organizations that focus on building power within marginalized communities. Martha is the program manager with Hunger Task Force and serves on the WILPF board. In 2018, Martha was appointed to the Equal Rights Commission with City of Milwaukee. As the former State Director of the Center for Progressive Leadership, she developed the next generation of progressive future candidates, political leaders, organizers and community activists from around the state. Martha is a former State Director with 9to5. In 2013, she received the “Organizer of the Year” award from Citizen Action of Wisconsin, recognizing her leadership within the ‘Raise Up MKE’ fast-food workers campaign. Martha graduated from Cardinal Stritch University and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Nonprofit Management and Leadership at Alverno College.
Abraham Harrison Lincoln Larkoh
I am an international graduate student from Sierra Leone, West Africa. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Sustainable Peacebuilding program, and the Graduate Certificate in Women's and Gender Studies, at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I have a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Peace and Conflict Studies from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. I want to engage current societal issues and complex "wicked" problems such as violent conflict, gender inequalities, food insecurity, social injustice, health disparities, socio-economic hardship and environmental degradation among diverse and underserved communities across the globe. Therefore, I hope to serve as a board member of the UNA-GM in order to achieve this dream and to promote the central mission of the United Nations by maintaining international peace and security. My dream is to create the environments that will accept peace, hold onto it, and flourish across the world.
